Privacy Policy

zkDB is an independent research and engagement firm. This site exists to explain our work and to receive confidential briefing requests. We collect the minimum personal data required to do that, and nothing more.

What we collect

We collect personal data only when you actively give it to us:

  • Briefing requests. Your name, organization, work email, role, stated area of interest, and the message you write.
  • Newsletter sign-ups. Your email address, and the page from which you subscribed.

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and we use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics that do not build a profile of you.

Why we use it

  • To respond to a briefing request and correspond with you about it.
  • To send the monthly editorial, if you asked for it.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which material is useful.

Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our work, and — for the newsletter — your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Who processes it

Engagement data is held in our own infrastructure. A small number of processors support the website: a transactional email provider (Resend) delivers briefing notifications and newsletter confirmations; our hosting and content database run on infrastructure we operate. None of these parties receive client engagement material — only the limited website data described above.

Retention

Briefing correspondence is retained for as long as the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, then deleted. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe.

International transfers

Where data is processed outside your jurisdiction, we rely on recognised safeguards. As a matter of principle, the firm is building the very technology — verifiable computation — that makes cross-border data handling provable rather than merely promised.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR and equivalent regimes), you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal data, and you may object to its processing. To exercise any of these, write to [email protected]. We respond within the timeframes the law requires.
